Afghan Oriental Carpets

Afghan carpets are woven in villages and handmade-carpet workshops in Afghanistan. The deep reds and the entire range of red, from purple to brown are their dominant colors.

Repeating octagons, rhombi, yomut motifs and the design that looks like an elephant’s footprint are typical of these carpets. Their warp is wool. Khal Mohammadi are also renowned carpets. They are woven by Turkmen in the north of the country.Also Aktsa, which are woven in central and northern parts of Afghanistan,et al.
